Important Decisions and Regulations

Student Applications
  • For all student applications (such as adding, dropping or withdrawing from a course, course exemption, course transfer, late registration, leave of absence, or counting minor/double major courses), the Dean's Office of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences accepts only the Student Application Form below. The form is available in Turkish only.

Non-Departmental Elective Courses
  • Non-departmental elective courses must be credit-bearing and carry at least 3 credits.
  • From the 2025–2026 Fall Semester onwards, the courses in the list below are no longer counted as non-departmental electives, as their content largely overlaps with courses in the Department’s undergraduate program.
→ List of courses no longer counted as non-departmental electives
  • From the 2026–2027 Spring Semester onwards, non-departmental elective courses taken beyond the number required by the curriculum will be recorded with NI status. (Faculty of Arts and Sciences decision, 8 October 2026)
  • From the 2026–2027 Spring Semester onwards, students may take only one of the following Vocational School courses: TKPR 219, TKPR 220, TKPR 222, TKPR 224 and TKPR 225. (Faculty of Arts and Sciences decision, 8 October 2026)
Course Equivalency
  • A course proposed as equivalent to a departmental must course must be at least 90% compatible in content with that must course. This rule applies to all undergraduate and graduate programs of the Department and to all equivalency requests submitted after 4 August 2026. (Departmental Academic Board decision, 4 August 2026)
