Open Faculty Positions

Department of Statistics of Middle East Technical University (METU) invites applications for faculty positions at the Assistant and Associate Professorship level. Entry level candidates will be preferred. Applicants are expected to have a solid research background with a strong publication record in at least one of the following research areas:

• Data Science
• Big Data
• Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning
• Simulation and Modeling
• Cloud Computing
• Information Technology

Members of the department are expected to pursue a vigorous research program, attract external research funding, and contribute strongly to the department’s teaching program both at the undergraduate and graduate levels. A proven record of good command of written and spoken English is also required as this is the medium of instruction in all METU programs.

Due to government regulations, the positions are open to Turkish citizens only. Applicants are expected to receive their Ph.D. in Statistics or related disciplines from a university abroad approved by YOK. For graduates of Turkish universities, a post-doctoral experience of at least 12 months in a foreign university or a prestigious research center is required. The open position finally requires an approval of the METU as well as the Higher Education Council of Turkey. Candidates should confirm that they satisfy the criteria for appointment available at:
